About David/Contact
David KoChin is the author of Thy Fiefdom Comes. He is a full time writer (in finance) though his real passion is writing fantasy.
He spent much of his teenage years reading fantasy novels and playing Dungeons & Dragons with his friends all night and into the wee hours of the morning, while eating pickled onions and cheese. (Hmm, can you imagine his bad breath?!)
He is fortunate to have many ‘life-experiences’ which he has incorporated into his writing – including nearly bleeding to death (a stomach ulcer burst when he was 21).
While studying for a Commerce Degree at the University of Western Australia, he volunteered for the Australian Army Reserve, participated in an ‘extreme’ Outward Bound course (ocean canoeing, survival camping, hang gliding, scuba diving, abseiling, etc), and learnt karate…all to ‘toughen’ himself – (which explains the stomach ulcer…these activities nearly killed him!)
He travelled widely to Asia, the USA and the UK when he headed the marketing division of a major financial institution later in his career. In his travels, he saw a wide range of human societies, from the modern day ‘lords’ to the modern day ‘serfs’, and from ‘advanced’ to ‘emerging’ nations. Many of these observations, as well as his Christian values, have been infused into his writing.
